My poem for MEMPHIS. PEOPLE Hello my visit to Memphis back in 2012 helped me to decide, I wouldn’t mine living here. And using my new ride streets like Memphis and Timothy, made me wish I had a bible name, i missed my chance to attend a Memphis game. I can’t have it all, my move was after the fall So after I married in November 2013 we loaded up the truck and traveled to TN. Memphis that is. Bible Town, And it was my new Memphis family I enjoyed hanging around, they navigated me through town. Got lost at first, but only after 1 yrs. I was showing others how to get from here to there. an agency found me work in the winter time. and now I get to write a poem and submitted on line I have been working since, and even during covid-19. Working for XPO at the GM plant 92 Team. Seeing how they have cared for millions, making ventilators, selling auto parts, and making mask keeping people safe. Is a beautiful task. Back in 2016 Two women were in an accident, soon after the car hit me. fluids leaked out and then i soon shout. everyone get out, please lets all get out. it didn’t take long to visit my neighbor’s To say a greeting, to ask if I could help, to be welcomed inside the homes of the southern folks. That’s no joke. I was worried at first. But my neighbor put me at ease. He was 95 yrs. old and still getting around. he's was literally behind me. the day of the accident. He’s amazing and so is his wife. They have been married for dear life. What’s interesting is that he married the yr.my mother was born 1945, they are the only couple I know that has kept hope alive and has now been married more than 75yrs months of driving my friends helped me get around, You see I’m from Chicago and most people know, I was glad to come south, because to live there comfortably you need a lot of dough in Memphis, They used words like YES’MA’AM. AT 48 that was music to my ears. To hear Yes sir. To my African husband nearly drove me and him to tears. One thing for sure, and two things for certain. The children are still being educated with internet and zoom. Keeping them in school. for our Memphis children they are our future, We Love it hear. Our home is Memphis last yr. and also this yr. i was just hoping to share my experience. .
