In need of a mobile meal on wheels? Memphis has tons of options: fresh fried shrimp, BBQ, burritos, grilled cheese, tacos, poboys, shaved ice...the list goes on and on. But how can you find these portable restaurants?
Here's a list of places and ways to find Memphis food trucks. All of this is subject to change due to changing COVID restrictions.
You can also check out all the food truck reviews and blog posts here.
Memphis Food Truck Twitter List
I've put together an ongoing list of Memphis food trucks' Twitter accounts that you can subscribe to. Individual accounts update their location and schedules, though some are more active than others. Many food trucks post their schedules on Instagram, too, if you have some favorites you want to give a follow.
Court Square Food Truck Rodeo - this is temporarily suspended due to COVID
On Thursdays, downtown's Court Square turns into a food truck rodeo starting at 11 a.m. Usually 9 - 12 trucks show up and hang out until around 2 p.m.
Memphis Food Truck Park
At the corner of Old Getwell and Winchester, you'll find trucks gathered for lunch Mondays through Fridays. They have covered seating and a couple of trucks to choose from. They post those on Facebook sometimes. .
At A Local Brewery - while most of the local breweries are closed, Memphis Made is hosting local food trucks regularly
There's usually at least one food truck posted up at each of the local breweries on nights that the taprooms are open. You can see a list of breweries here.
Levitt Shell - the Shell's in-person concerts are on hiatus due to COVID
The Shell hosts more than 50 free live music concerts every year at their outdoor amphitheater in Overton Park, and their ShellEats area has a truck(s) parked for nearly every show.
Miss Cordelia's
Miss Cordelia's grocery in Harbor Town on Mud Islands hosts regular food truck nights (and other fun things like trivia and movie nights). They post their events on Facebook.
Farmer's Markets
You can often find a food truck or two on Saturday mornings at the Memphis Farmer's Market (April - October) and the Cooper Young Community Farmer's Market (year round).
Festivals & Events
At most outdoor festivals, you'll see at least a couple of food trucks.
These are only seasonal/occasional:
Food Truck Fridays at the Dixon- Food Truck Fridays will return in 2021
Three to four food trucks congregate at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in East Memphis each Friday from April through September from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It's free to enter.
Food Truck Fridays at FedExForum
Multiple food trucks gather on the Plaza at FedExForum occasionally.
Botanic Gardens Food Truck Garden Party
The Botanic Gardens usually have 2-3 food truck parties each year.
Of course, there's the annual Mid-South Food Truck Fest, usually held in April. Dozens of food trucks from all across the southeast (and beyond) gather at Liberty Bowl. You can sample food, order full entrees, and vote on your favorites.
