Wilco Comes To Memphis For The First Shell Yeah! of 2020
American rockers Wilco are coming to Memphis on Tuesday, April 14 for a special Shell Yeah! benefit concert. Tickets are $39.50 + fees and go on sale on Friday, February 7, 2020 via Ticketmaster. There’s also an artist presale on the 5th. Keep reading for details.
What Is Shell Yeah! and Why Is Wilco Coming To Memphis?
When you think Levitt Shell, you think “free concerts”. That’s absolutely true 99 percent of the time—the Levitt Shell in Overton Park hosts more than 50 free shows every year. You can bring your own picnic baskets, food, drinks, coolers, chairs, and blankets. Kids and leashed pets are welcome. But these free shows don’t grow on trees, and neither do the lights, sounds system, groundskeeping, and staffing for the shows. The Levitt Shell really needs our donations and support in order to keep the music going.
That’s why they host a couple of paid concerts every year. If you’re a frequent Shell-goer, you can think of it like getting 51 concerts for the price of one (or two if you go to both Shell Yeah! shows).
These concerts are different from usual Shell shows because outside food and drinks aren’t allowed, and pets need to stay at home. Be sure you read all the info about Shell Yeah! because it’s a lot different than the usual shows (go here and scroll down).
Wilco at the Levitt Shell Details
Wilco performs at the Levitt Shell in Memphis on Tuesday, April 14 at 8 p.m. Advanced tickets are $39.50 plus fees and go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb. 7. There is an artist pre-sale via Ticketmaster on Feb. 5. While I expect this to sell out, they are saying that day-of tickets will be $44.50+fees.
The rain date is April 20th. It’s general admission seating, and there are no refunds since this is a fundraiser.
Don’t forget to leave the coolers and pets at home for this one. The Shell will have food and drinks for sale on site from multiple vendors. You can bring empty water bottles and use the water fountains on site. They’re offering a limited number of tickets, so grab a seat soon.
