Lunch at Pearl's Oyster House

Lunch at Pearl's Oyster House

If you're looking for oysters or a taste of the Gulf Coast in downtown Memphis, Pearl's Oyster House on South Main is actually a local restaurant that will meet your needs. It has a bit of a chain feel, or something like you'd actually find on the Gulf Coast, but it's not a chain—there are only two locations, one downtown and one in Cordova.

The full menu is available at lunch, so if you have a mid-day oyster craving, you can take care of it.

Pearl's wasn't super crowded when I went in around 12:45 p.m. for lunch (I got the crab cake special) but the place is huge, so you shouldn't have a problem getting a table. There's parking on the street or in the lot immediately behind the restaurant.

Go There:

Pearl's Oyster House

Downtown: 299 S Main St
Cordova: 8106 Cordova Center Dr.

If you're a fan of horseradish in bloody marys, you're in luck. They have a heavy hand with it. Good times, and good people. Never had a bad experience there.

In town to take part in BarCamp Memphis on Saturday and stumbled across Pearl's while I was killing time before check-in. Relaxing place, great food and great staff. It'll be somewhere I stop again the next time I'm in town.
