Levitt Shell Lineup: Black History Month Virtual Shows

Memphis's Levitt Shell In Action

While the Levitt Shell isn’t hosting in-person shows at the moment, they’re honoring Black History Month with a series of virtual concerts featuring black artists. You can tune in via the Shell’s Facebook page every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. If you can, drop a few bucks into the virtual donation bucket

Here’s the schedule for the Black History Month Virtual Series.

Feb. 6th - The McCrary Sisters (2018)

Feb. 13th - Bettie Smith (2018)

Feb. 20th - Rhodes Jazz feat. Joyce Cobb (2018)

Feb. 27th - Occupy The Shell Concert (2020)

About The Shell

The Levitt Shell normally hosts more than 50 "free" live concerts each year, plus a few ticketed concerts that serve as fundraisers. I use quotes around "free" because it's free for our community, but it still costs money to upkeep the state-of-the-art historic facility and to pay all of the artists and professionals that make this one of the best things to do in Memphis.

Let's keep it up and running and keep it free by making sure we make a donation this year. It’s an incredible community resource and a really fun, really Memphis thing to do—pack a picnic or grab dinner and drinks from the food trucks onsite, spread out a blanket or folding chair, and enjoy bands and music artists from around the world.

Normally, there are Summer (May - July) and Fall (September - October) concerts, with live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
