Guides: Crawfish, Mardi Gras, Valentine’s

1. Sweet Street: First Fridays, Broad Avenue, Friday, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., $5, all ages/kid-friendly
Shops and eateries on Broad will offer treats and sweets this Friday night. All you need to do is pick up a $5 punch card at any participating location and then start exploring! For a list of participating businesses, go here.

2. A Night At The Pawscars, Cadre Building, Friday, 7 p.m. – 11 p.m., $20 dogs /$45 GA/$75 VIP, 21+
This brand-new event is all about the dogs! Put on your favorite Oscars-inspired outfit and head downtown to the super swanky Cadre building for a vegetarian buffet, bar, dog fashion show, a silent auction, dancing, and more. There will be dogs there—in fact, dog tickets are $20 while supplies last. Everything benefits the pups of ALIVE Rescue Memphis.

3. Chinese New Year Celebration, CMOM, Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., $15 per person, all ages/kid-friendly
Celebrations for the Year of the Rat continue this weekend at a family-friendly Chinese New Year party, which is included in the price of Children’s Museum admission. The kids can enjoy a traditional dragon dance, crafts, dances, origami, a special storytime, and samples of Chinese dumplings.

4. Folk All Y’all: An Evening With Snaps For Sinners, Green Room at Crosstown Arts, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., $20, 18+
Folk All Y’all is a Memphis concert series dedicated to intimate shows for singer-songwriters with 100 percent of the proceeds going throwers the artist. This Saturday, enjoy a “sassy swing ensemble” and bring your dancing shoes for Snaps for Sinners in the ultra-cool Green Room at Crosstown Arts in the Concourse.

5. Retro Drinks Reimagined, Bar Hustle at ARRIVE, Saturday, 5 p.m. – midnight, free to enter/cocktail costs vary, 21+
Guest bartender Dylan Seo of The Sixth cocktail bar in Chicago teams up with Bar Hustle in the Arrive Hotel this Saturday for an evening of retro-inspired cocktails. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what this means. I do know that Pablo and Erik at Bar Hustle know how to make a craft cocktail and I’d try anything they made. It’s free to enter and there will be eight cocktails available for purchase. This is a good opportunity to check out the Arrive, Bar Hustle, and the downstairs restaurant Longshot if you haven’t been there yet.

If you’re looking for free and family-friendly, check out Firepit Fridays at the River Garden on Friday starting at 4:30 p.m. or any of the other family and/or free events marked below.
