You’re Invited! Cheering Section For The 2019 St. Jude Marathon

The St. Jude Memphis Marathon is this Saturday, December 7. I Love Memphis will sponsor a Cheer Section again – and you’re invited.

It’s at Danny Thomas and Vance (near Mile 10) from 8 a.m. to noon. Come for some of the time or stay the whole, get there early for a free t-shirt and snacks or bring your own, use our posters and noisemakers or bring your own. More details below.

Mark your calendars for this Saturday morning and get ready to support the St. Jude Heroes running in the 2019 Memphis Marathon. For the vast majority of you, it’s super easy get to this spot, so excuses about blocked roads will apply!

When: This Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 8 a.m. to noon. You do not need to stay the whole time, it’s totally come-and-go, come by for a half hour or stay the whole time. We expect the first runner to come by about 8:15 a.m.

Where: Our home base this year will be at Mile 10, on the northeast corner of Danny Thomas and Vance.  The marathon route changed a few years ago and now does not block as much traffic in midtown. You can see the map here.

Where Do I Park: Park anywhere east of Danny Thomas to avoid crossing the route.

What: Cheer on the THOUSANDS of runners who are coming from around the country to help cure childhood cancer, right here in Memphis. These St. Jude Heroes SERIOUSLY need your encouragement this late in the race. We’ll have light snacks, but bring what you need.

Who: You! You’re totally invited and you can bring your kids and your friends and your dogs on leashes.

Help me by RSVPing to the Facebook event! >> https://www.facebook.com/events/1026167101068468/

See y’all Saturday!

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
