You’re Invited: I Love Memphis Blog 10th Birthday Bash
The I Love Memphis Blog is turning ten! That’s ten years of amazing weekends, ten years of delicious food, ten years of meeting cool Memphians, and ten years of loving a city that deserves every ounce of affection we can give it.
This website and I Love Memphis as a concept would not still exist without you, dear reader. The credit for this blog’s success since 2009 goes to y’all: the Memphis lovers, the Memphis defenders, the Memphis skeptics, the readers, the commenters, the listeners, and the followers. THANK YOU.
To celebrate, we’re hosting a huge I Love Memphis Blog 10th Birthday Bash and everyone is invited.
Here are the details:
I Love Memphis 10th Birthday Bash
Saturday, August 17th
5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
free to enter and all ages
The first 100 people to enter will get party favors, and at approximately 6:45 p.m., we’ll have a toast with some free bubbly and mini cupcakes. After that, local band Life, Explicit will take the stage.
Railgarten will have more food and drinks for sale, and we’ll have fun things like photo booths, limited edition I Love Memphis t-shirts for sale, and more. Let me give a special shout-out to Two Girls And A Whip, who are providing us with a big birthday cake and mini cupcakes for this event.
But wait…there’s more!
Clear The Shelters Day
I’m happy to announce that we will partner with Clear The Shelters and Blues City Animal Rescue to host an official Clear the Shelters Day event during the birthday party on August 17. That means profits from from I Love Memphis t-shirt and merch sales will go to the Rescue, we’ll be accepting cash donations for them, and *fingers crossed* may even have some foster dogs on hand ready for you to take home.
Learn more about Clear The Shelters Day from NBC Universal here.
A few more details about the blog’s birthday party:
– Railgarten parking is not really a thing, so plan to bike, walk, or get a ride share to get there
– This event is family-friendly, but the bubbly toast is for 21+
– Free cake and wine will be plentiful, but it is a while supplies last situation
– Hang around afterwards for the Lucky 7 Brass Band!
I’ll have more to say about the last decade, and my experience with the I Love Memphis Blog for the last six years. Actually, I’d love to know your thoughts as we look back on the last 10 years – What questions do you have? What do you remember? What have been your favorite blog posts? What kind of top ten roundups should I do?
More on that later, but for now: you’re invited to the Blog’s 10th Birthday Bash!
You can RSVP and get more details on Facebook here.
