The cutest foot race in Memphis is coming up this weekend. Assignment #244 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis is to attend the annual Running of the Weenies.

The running of the weenies is exactly what it sounds like: a race (in as much as non-racing dogs can race) involving 100 Dachshund in the Germantown Horse Show Arena. It's adorable, unpredictable and for a good cause - proceeds benefit the Germantown Animal Shelter.

If a horde of weenie dogs running isn't enough to convince you to go, know that there's also the Best Dressed Contest at 11 a.m. before the race proper.
