Cheers To The Finer Things At Tour Dé Toast Memphis

Cheers To The Finer Things At Tour Dé Toast Memphis

There's another new food and wine event landing in Memphis on June 8 called Tour Dé Toast. It's all about Champagne, Memphis music, and looking fabulous.

Tour Dé Toast is inspired by the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, where the fancy and famous don their best spring attire to enjoy the brand's beloved bubbly whilst watching a polo match on the lawn of a New York City park, complete with the Statue of Liberty as the backdrop. It looks to be over-the-top in a very fun way.

If you're already imagining yourself in a snappy pastel suit or a flowing floral gown sipping the good stuff on the lawn of a Mansion, keep reading.

Local organizers of Tour Dé Toast have partnered with Moet & Chandon (another famous Champagne brand) to make this event their own, with plenty of Memphis touches. Tour Dé Toast Memphis is on Saturday, June 8 from 3 p.m to 8 p.m. Guests will picnic on the lawn of the Pink Palace, with local music as entertainment, and dine on food from three local chefs. You have to wear spring chic and bring a pastel picnic blanket or they won't let you in. (I'm serious!) I hear there will be some surprises, too.

Let's get to the details.

General admission is $75, which pays for the experience and the music, and includes a split (small bottle with 1-2 glasses) of Champagne and a souvenir tasting goblet. VIP admission is $160 and includes a regular-sized bottle of Moet and the goblet. Food will be sold a la carte in small plates ($5-$15 range) as will additional beverages.

That day, you must dress in your best spring attire: think pastels, florals, You can check out their Instagram for style ideas. You'll also need to bring a pastel-colored picnic blanket. They also suggest extra plates and napkins, sunscreen, selfie sticks and cameras. On the stage outside, expect new musical acts every hour, including Kenneth Whalum, Carl Thomas, Charvey Mac, Ashley Hess, and others.

As for the food, Tour Dé Toast has posted some menus on their Instagram here. You'll be able to purchase food from three local chefs: private Executive Chef Shawn Davis, Chef Corey Coleman from The Kitchen Guru catering company, and Chef Erica Bone from Tailor's Union/The Pocket. Tour Dé Toast has posted some menus on their Instagram here, which I'd describe as light, fresh, and inventive picnic fare - everything from ceviche and grilled fruit to pasta and jerk chicken.
