Ed. Note: Wesley is popping in to this article with one more suggestion. More about Cafe Noir coming soon!

Café Noir is a Black-owned bookseller that specializes in works from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ authors and local authors. Jasmine Settles, owner and native Memphian, is a voracious reader and passionate about sharing stories from communities who are often overlooked.

She’s been operating Café Noir exclusively online since 2020, but is aiming to open a brick-and-mortar shop by summer 2023. If you’re looking for a great gift for the bookworms in your life, you can browse their catalog on their website at cafenoirmemphis.com. You can also help give Memphis the gift of a brand-new independent bookstore and café by donating to Café Noir!
