It’s one of those crazy busy fall weekends in Memphis – fests, markets, events, music, and more. Here are the five things you won’t want to miss, plus a few extras. Check out the Listen Up! guide to live music in October, too.

If you’re really into what’s going on around town, be sure to join the all-new I Love Memphis Events Facebook Group. We’ll help you plan your visit, your weekend, or just find something to do tonight!

Creative Works Market, Halloran Centre, Friday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., free to enter, all ages
Creative Works conference is in town this weekend – a ton of artists, designers, and creatives have descended upon our fair city – and while the conference is sold out, everyone is welcome to shop at the market. The vendors are a mix of out-of-town makers/artists and local folks. Check out the vendors here.

A Day of Merrymaking, Overton Park, Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., free, all ages
Merrymake with your fellow Memphians in the heart of the city, as the Autumn colors are at their most vibrant. Overton Park Conservancy’s annual family festival will feature music, food, games and activities.

Crosstoberfest, Crosstown Concourse, Saturday, 2 p.m – 7 p.m., free, all ages/kid-friendly
Bring the whole family up to the Concourse for live music (Chinese Connection Dub Embassy, The Oomphasters, James & The Ultrasounds, Objekt12 – an impressive lineup!) and kid’s activities, plus plenty of food options and $5 beer from Crosstown Brewing.

Mempho Music Fest, Shelby Farms Park, Saturday – Sunday, $99 and up, all ages
Mempho returns to Shelby Farms with a slew of awesome artists. This year’s festival includes Beck, Post Malone, Phoenix, Nas, Janelle Monáe, and many more. Read our full guide here.

Memphis Tigers v. UConn Huskies, Liberty Bowl, Saturday, 6 p.m., prices vary, all ages/kid-friendly
Tigers football home game! Go Tigers Go! Memorize the fight song if you haven’t already!

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
