Get Your Wing on at Ching's
Get Your Wing on at Ching's

Ask Memphians where to get the best hot wings in town, and you'll start a debate that's almost, almost as contentious as "who has the best BBQ in Memphis?" One of the contenders, according to chicken wing experts everywhere, is Ching's.
The first thing you notice about Ching's is that they clearly love the University of Memphis Tigers. There are Tiger posters and pictures of present and former Tigers covering every available bit of window space. Inside, the walls are completely covered in photos of students, basketball and football jerseys, and a random violin.
There are also seven flat screen TVs in the restaurant, which is about the size of my living room.
To order, walk up to the counter and tell the nice ladies what you want. The menu is really simple - you can either order party wings (the little drummies and thighs) or whole wings, and there are only a few seasoning choices - regular, hot, honey, and honey hot.
I ordered ten regular party wings and my lunch buddy had 5 whole honey hot wings.
Everything in my styrofoam box was seasoned with a sweet, spicy, and salty rub. It was really, really good. I ate all ten of my wings and wanted more - needed more, really. I could have kept going all day.
I also tried one of my pal's honey hot wings, which was kind of perfect. It was sweet and spicy, and my fingertips were almost dyed orange from the sauce. Good thing Ching's is prepared for that sort of thing:
I could probably go on and on about my lunch all afternoon (I can still smell the seasoning on my fingers - yum!), but you're not going to understand until you go eat at Ching's. Do it. Go. Now. Eat the wings.
Leave me a comment to tell me how much you loved them. Maybe we can go eat them together sometime - I definitely want to go back soon.
