5 Things To Eat And Drink In Memphis This Weekend: 9/29 - 10/1

Y'all like the 5 Things To Do This Weekend so much, I thought this week we'd do a little spinoff. Here are the five things you'll want to eat and drink in Memphis this weekend.

1. Pau Hana Happy Hour at Tsunami
If you want to check this one off the list, you'll have to go today (Friday) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Or anytime during the week. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss Stacey's post about Tsunami's new pau hana specials and forthcoming new restaurant.

2. Gonerfest 14 beer at Memphis Made/various locations
Memphis Made has created a 4.6% session IPA just for this weekend's punk/indie/metal fest. You can get it in cans most places where Memphis Made is available, or at the brewery itself all weekend/henceforth until it's gone.

Carrying @memphismadebrew's #gonerfest session IPA at both locations! #drinkmorebeer #eatmorepie

3. Dave's Pretzels paired with Wiseacre's Oktoberfest at Wiseacre's Oktoberfest on Saturday
Two for one! If you liked Dave's Bagels, you'll love his pretzels! They'll be served on Saturday along with Wiseacre's seasonal beer at the brewery's Oktoberfest shindig. Plus, local artist Brit McDaniel made some snazzy steins you can get at the fest.

4. Cornish Game Hen + Waffles from Flying Sobie's (found at Ghost River Brewing for Sunday brunch)
Have you not tried Flying Sobie's yet? This is the hearty hangover/post-run cure you're looking for, promise. You can get it with your choice of sauces and it comes with waffles, though I personally like the seasoned fries instead. Ghost River serves beer brunch drinks, too.

5. Area 51 Ice Cream at Crosstown Concourse
Let's round out an extremely healthy weekend by trying out some ice cream at Area 51's newly opened shop inside the Crosstown Concourse. They've had a location in Hernando, Mississippi for years (wrote about them here) so it's great they're expanding. They use local and homemade ingredients for flavors like snickerdoodle and blackberry goat cheese.

Have a great weekend and come back here and tell me all about it next week!
