The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Is Coming To The Mid-South
Y'all, I've just received an important dispatch from Hotdog HQ...Are you ready for this news?
Try to contain your excitement...but the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is rolling into the Mid-South next week!
So, I don't think the Hotdoggers (aka Wienermobile Wielders) are giving out hot dogs, but they are giving out wiener whistles, offering games of cornhole, and of course, photo ops. They told me they would..."relish" the chance to "meat" everyone.
It's mostly stopping at Walmarts in the suburbs, but it's also going to be at the Central Gardens Fourth of July parade, in case you want to see it. I suggest we barrage @wienermobile with Tweets asking to stop by some other fun spots.
Here's the schedule:
July 2nd:
- Walmart Super Center
- 11:00am – 4:00pm
- 4150 W Goodman Road Horn Lake, MS 38637
July 4th:
- Central Gardens July Fourth Parade
- 9:00am – 11:00am
- 1597 Carr Ave Memphis, TN 38104
July 6th:
- Walmart Super Center
- 11:00am – 4:00pm
- 6811 Southcrest Pkwy Southaven, MS 38671
July 7th:
- Walmart Super Center
- 11:00am – 4:00pm
- 8400 Highway 64 Barlett, TN 38133
July 8th:
- Walmart Super Center
- 11:00am – 4:00pm
- 6727 Raleigh LaGrange Rd Memphis, TN 38133
July 9th:
- Walmart Super Center
- 11:00am – 4:00pm
- 7950 Craft Goodman Frontage Rd Olive Branch, MS 38654
Also, I debated making an actual full blog post about this, but hey, it's Friday-Eve, and I can't help it I'm excited.
Just to be sure this becomes as ridiculous as possible, let me put this out there:
Anyone who takes a picture of their wiener dog in front of the Wienermobile while it's in Memphis will get a free I Love Memphis t-shirt mailed to them. All you have to do is tag your photos #ilovememphis on Twitter or Instagram, and I'll see it.
I literally just want to see pics of dachshunds and make wiener puns, so this is completely selfish.
If you think this post is completely absurd, you're not wrong. Check out the more substantial posts from this week here, here, here, and here.
To conclude, let me ask: Where do you think the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile should stop in Memphis? Let me know in the comments.
