Every year, Memphians gather in Robert Church Park (just east of FedExForum) to celebrate African culture with a festival of food, music, demonstrations, arts and crafts, and more. This year marks the 30th year of Africa in April. The honored country is the Republic of Tanzania. The festival is daily April 15 to 17, 2016.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
