Alas, Fino’s East – located in Brookhaven Circle next to Brookhaven Pub – closed its doors in December 2018. While the fate of this location is uncertain, we do know that Fino’s From The Hill in midtown (the original spot) will reopen on April 2.
Like the midtown location, at Fino’s East, you ordered at the counter and paid when you receive your order. Unlike the midtown location, the new Fino’s has a spacious dining room and – try to contain your excitement Memphians – a patio!
If you’ve never been, Fino’s is a family-owned Italian deli made famous by their scrumptious sandwiches.
This is “The Acquisto” with ham, mortadella, salmi, provel, and green olive dressing, one of their most popular sandwiches.
Meet the Fino’s Meatball Sub.
Fino’s East has a small deli counter with a few cheeses and meats, etc., but not the fuller grocery area like the midtown one.
For some reason, I’d never ordered the Fino’s salad until this week. What a mistake. Lettuce, cheese, crispy homemade croutons, and this crazy delicious house dressing that I definitely thought was soup at first. It’s herbed olive oil with tomato and onion. I may or may not dipped my bread in it, too.
The daily pasta special was spaghetti with bolognese. Simple but satisfying. This is the “full” portion, of which I only finished 2/3. I had to save room for dessert…
Chocolate torte. 10/10 would recommend.
