Tuesday (Jan. 26)
Tuesday Show at The Brass Door
Memphis comics Doug & Kyle host local and visiting comedians on the last Tuesday of every month. 8 p.m. $5. 21 and up. Read more about Doug and Kyle here.
The International Blues Challenge (IBC) kicks off on Tuesday with an International Showcase on Beale Street. Click here for details.
Wednesday (Jan. 27)
American Quirk Film Series continues at the Brooks with "Vernon, Florida" at 7 p.m.
ATTN jam band fans: Railroad Earth is at the New Daisy on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The IBC continues with daytime showcases and Quarter Finals on Beale Street.
Steve Selvidge, Jimmy Crosswait, Ben Baker, and Luke White perform at DKDC at 7:30 p.m.
Lafayette's hosts a Club Night with Wick-it the Instigator with GuTTa KicK and purplecatjane at 10 p.m.
The Dixon hosts Art After Dark, a monthly event where galleries and gardens are open 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with light refreshments and a cash bar.
Thursday (Jan. 28)
Learn about aromatherapy and essentials oils at Panera Bread at Trinity Commons at 6:30 p.m. Free. Hosted by Team Healing Essence.
Grizzlies v. Bucks at 7 p.m. at FedExForum
The IBC continues with daytime showcases, a film screening, and artist talk, Quarter Finals, and late-night jam sessions. Click here for details.
The Brothers Size show continues at Hattiloo Theatre Thursdays through Sundays until Feb. 7.
Theatre Memphis presents The Lion In Winter Thursdays through Sundays until Feb. 7.
Byhalia Mississippi the play continues at TheatreWorks Thursdays through Sundays until Jan. 31.
Weekend
The IBC continues on Friday with daytime showcases, (including a Women In Blues showcase and Youth showcase, plus the Semi-Finals and late-night jams. The Finals are on Saturday at noon at The Oprheum. Click here for details.
American Idiot continues at Playhouse on the Square.
MCA hosts an opening reception for "Sunset/Sunrise" at the Hyde Gallery from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday.
Circuitous Succession presents a gallery talk for artist Sarah Ahmad from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday.
The Dixon hosts "Wine Down: The Cheese Edition" on Friday at 6 p.m.
Vince Carter and the Memphis Grizzlies host the annual Staxtacular event at the Stax Museum. $175 ticket gets you food, open bar, dancing, live music, and a chance to meet Grizzlies players.
Stock&Belle hosts an opening reception for "Year Of Fear" exhibition from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday.
Live music rundown for Friday: Gerald Stephens and Jeremy Shrader perform at GPAC at 7 p.m. South Main Sounds hosts a Songwriter Night at 7 p.m. The Sheiks and Duma perform at the Lamplighter at 11 p.m.
"The Other Place" opens at Circuit Playhouse on Friday, Jan. 29 and runs through Feb. 21.
The Brooks Museum hosts a Community Day for their Folk Art In America exhibit on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's free, and there will be activities for kids.
Grizzlies v. Kings at 7 p.m. at FedExForum.
Terry Prince & the Principles perform at 9 p.m. at the Brass Door on Saturday.
The Basement (423 N. Watkins) hosts Black Nerd Power Comedy Hour (with headliner Mo Alexander) on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
The Koresh Dance Company performs at GPAC on Saturday at 8 p.m.
The Subtractions will perform at the Buc at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Go on an Old Forest Hike on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Overton Park.
