Rock Out: Memphis Punk Rock Fest 3 Is This Weekend

Posted by Holly Whitfield | June 2nd 2015 674 0

It's time for Memphis Punk Rock Fest 3, so prepare yourselves for three days of 40 heavy metal, ska, hardcore, and of course, punk bands at some of Midtown's greatest dive bars.

Friday is all about metal and hardcore bands, while Saturday and Sunday are a mix of punk, ska, folk punk, and more hardcore groups. The shows take place at Murphy's, the P&H, the Buc, the Hi-Tone, and the Lamplighter. Multi-day passes are sold out, but you can buy individual tickets to events at the door. Most shows range from $7 to $20, and while most are 21+ only, Saturday night at the Hi-Tone is all ages.

This year, there's a comedy show on Friday night, and a surprise daytime show on Sunday that will be announced on the 7th via Facebook. I'd also like to note that this event is organized, booked, and put on by locals, so if you're into this, get and support it and see some

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
