Here’s a heads up on two new-for-this-year events happening later in the summer in Memphis. Both of these shindigs focus on the time-honored tradition of sampling adult beverages surrounded by food, music, and good company.

Margarita Fest

Margarita, Memphis,Tenn.

There’s hot wing, burger, bbq, beer, and healthy food festivals, why not margaritas? The Memphis Flyer will host the first-ever Margarita Fest on Saturday, June 27 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Overton Park Greensward (the grassy part).

Reps from local restaurants known for their margaritas (check out the I Love Memphis list of favorites here) will compete to win the popular vote and decide once and for all who in Memphis has the best. dang. margarita.

Tickets are $25 per person, which includes 15 sample-sized tastings. You can buy full-size drinks and food separately. The Memphis Flyer will donate proceeds to Volunteer Memphis. 21 and up only.
