Get Ready For Redbirds Baseball
It's time for Memphis baseball. This means fireworks, BBQ nachos, the very hilarious Rockey the Redbird mascot, the best minor league ballpark in the country (which has just undergone a bunch of awesome upgrades) and of course, great baseball from our Triple-A team, the Redbirds.
Here's the lowdown on the 2015 season.
It's easy to forget that you're in the middle of a city during a Redbird's game. The stadium is breezy, the food is awesome, and tickets are inexpensive ($6 – $55 for club level). There's a playground, people chill on blankets on the bluff, kids run around, and you can watch future MLB stars in action.
The Redbirds 2015 home games start on Friday, April 3 with a special exhibition game with the St. Louis Cardinals. The regular season begins on Thursday, April 9 with a home game against the Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs Triple-A affiliate). After that, the Birds play at home several times every week until August.
New this year: Auto Zone Park has been renovated with a brand-new playing field, a state-of-the-art LED scoreboard in left field, a BBQ-themed food area in the right field concourse, two new "bluffs" in the main seating bowl and an all-inclusive club in right field.

If you need more reasons to take yourself or someone else out to the ball park, here are a few:
– Post-game fireworks at every Saturday home game plus the Friday, July 3 game
– Block Parties in the plaza at AutoZone Park every Friday game starting two hours before the first pitch, with live music and beer specials
– Bark In The Ball Park on April 26, where you can bring your dog in to the park (in a special seating section). For more info, go here.
– Kids under 2 who will sit on a parent's lap can get in for free.
