The models are selected, the designers are assembling their pieces, and the fashion community of Memphis is gearing up for another Memphis Fashion Week, aka MFW.

MFW brings together local and national designers, models, photographers, artists, and other fashion industry types for several days of runway shows, parties, and boutique events. It’s just a few weeks away, so mark you calendar for events March 23 to 28.

That Friday night’s runway show at Memphis College of Art will feature the collections from the Emerging Memphis Designer Project (EMDP): a group of up-and-coming local designers who were chosen based on submissions. They’ll show off small collections on Friday night, and attendees can vote on their favorite.

Saturday’s shows will take place at Overton Square’s Tower Courtyard and features work from several well-known designers, including Diane Von Furstenburg. Read about all of the designers here.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
