Happy Friday, Memphis! Here are the five things you won't want to miss around town this weekend.

Screen Shot 2015-02-07 at 11.12.56 AM

1. Monster Jam, FedExForum, Friday – Saturday, 7 p.m., $15 to $50, plus fees, all ages/kid-friendly
As the perfect alternative to flowers and chocolates, take your loved ones with you to watch huge vehicles with names like "War Wagon" and "Raminator" smash each other to bits.

2. The Rocky Horror Show, Playhouse on the Square, all weekend, $24, 18+
Is offbeat, smart, sexy humor your version of romance? Then do the Time Warp with your sweetheart at Playhouse on the Square's live-action version of the lusty musical film. This is the last weekend to catch the show. There are showings tonight (13th) at 8 p.m. and midnight, Saturday (14th) at 8 p.m., and the last show is Sunday (15th) at 2 p.m.

3. Must Love Cats, Brooks Museum, Saturday and Sunday, several showings, $9 Sunday, 21 and up for Saturday, all ages/kid-friendly for Sunday
The internet cat video fest is back again, and this time there are two days of showings. Saturday is for the grown-ups, with a cash bar, musical performances by Opera Memphis, Misti Rae, and DJ Waht. (As of Friday morning, there were still some tickets available for the Saturday 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. showings but you'll have to buy them first-come, first-serve starting at 5:40 p.m. on Saturday.) Sunday is for kids with showings at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and you can still buy online as of Friday morning.

4. Spaceface and Dirty Streets with Young Buffalo / Murder by Death, Hi-Tone Cafe, Saturday / Sunday, 9 p.m. / 7 p.m., $7 / $13
Here's your two-for-one things to do this weekend: two great shows at the Hi-Tone. On Saturday, local band Spaceface's psych rawk plus Dirty Streets plus Young Buffalo's = Valentine's Day at the Hi-Tone. On Sunday, established indie rock band Murder By Death celebrates their sixth album release with a show at the Hi-Tone.

5. NBA All-Star Weekend, Wherever You Can Find a TV With TNT, Friday – Sunday, all ages
It's kind of garbage that the Grizzlies don't have more representation on the All-Star team, *Conley cough cough* but we still have Robert Pera and Marc Gasol to cheer for this weekend. The Celebrity Game featuring our owner, Pera, is tonight (13th) at 6 p.m. and Grizzly Bear Blues is running a little contest if you can guess outcomes of the game. Go here to enter and get a shout from me and GBB on Twitter. The actual game is on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. See the whole weekend's programming here.

Have a great weekend! If you're looking for more V-Day ideas, go here (disclaimer: some of the ideas may be sold out at this point). If you're looking for an updated guide to cheap drinking that I published this week, go here.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
