Enjoy Fancy Drinks, Support Reading, and Win Tickets to Literatini (Giveaway Ended)

Get lucky this Friday the 13th by winning tickets to Literacy Mid-South's annual Literatini.

***Congrats to Sarah McCormick and Whitney Williams for winning the ticket drawing. Thanks to everyone to commented. If you didn't win you can still buy tickets here. ***

Head to Booksellers at Laurelwood and sample martinis from several local restaurants, enjoy some tasty bites, bid on auction items, and shop (20 percent of sales benefit Literacy Mid-South). There will be live music and the typewriter poet guy will make an appearance.

Tickets are $50 per person or $75 per couple, but I'm giving away two pairs for free. To win, just leave a comment on this post telling me the best book you've read lately. You get entered in the drawing twice if it's a book about Memphis or by a Memphis author. (Giveaway ended)

I'll do a drawing at the end of the day today, when I return from a quick road trip I'm taking (and I'll tell you about that, too). Also, Lyft is giving free rides to Literatini. Go to the event's Facebook page for details.

This event sounds really fun! My boyfriend and I would love to attend. I just finished reading "Devil's Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three" I have had the book for a while, but just found the time to read it earlier this month!

John Gottman's What Makes Love Last   A very good book. Worth reading regardless of what shape your primary relationship or marriage is in. I strongly recommend it for anyone in a relationship.

Love lists of recommended reading! Thanks! I'll contribute as well. Currently reading The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty. Just bought Unbroken ( Laura Hillenbrand) and Hellhound on His Trail (Hampton Sides) for my dad for Fatgers Day. Recommend all of them!!
