Save the Date: Ira Glass Coming to the Orpheum

Attention, public radio fans: our patron saint / storytelling godfather Ira Glass is coming to the Orpheum next month.

Like any good public radio nerd, I've been a fan of Ira Glass' weekly show, "This American Life",  for years. Each week,  a handful of amazing reporters, writers, celebrities and ordinary people do short stories centered a theme. The stories are funny and engaging, and I'm not too proud to admit that occasionally (i.e., once a month or so), they manage to make me cry in that way that only public radio, sports documentaries and Pixar movies can.

If you've never heard the show before, you can listen to all of the previous episodes for free here.

As the host of the show, Glass is witty, brilliant, charming, self depricating and unafraid to ask the questions - no matter how silly - that you really want answered.

Ira Glass is coming to the Orpheum in Memphis on October 5th for a TAL-style night of storytelling, journalism and humor (including some of the funniest moments from the show).
