Tonight's Plans: Check Out the First Broad Ave. Night Market
The Broad Avenue Arts District is staying up late tonight for their first ever Night Market.
The night market has a similar format to South Main's monthly Trolley Tour. From 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. tonight, the shops, galleries and businesses on Broad Ave. will stay open late. The space between the new Indie Style Market and West Memorials will be packed with food trucks, live music, kid's activities, a community dance class led by the Collage Collective and vendors selling everything from art to locally-grown produce.
Tonight's market is the first, but I'm glad it won't be the last. They're scheduled to happen on the fourth Thursdays in September and October. Hopefully, they'll be sucessful enough to be made into a monthly event.
Admission to the Night Market is free, and it's open to all ages. Here's a complete list of activities and info.
