On Thursday, discover the Broad Avenue Arts District in the same way that 15th century explorers found new continents: with a map and a mission.

Only, instead of braving unknown and possibly dangerous lands in search of treasure, you'll be getting to know one of the coolest up-and-coming neighborhooods in Memphis through an evening scavenger hunt.

When you arrive, you'll be given a list of missions - including doing dances, snapping selfies and correctly identifying different types of columns -  that can all be completed at businesses along Broad Ave.

The hunt starts whenever you arrive, but in order to score a bag of free stuff from the participating businesses, you've got to have your map completed by sunset (which the organizers are defining as 8:13 p.m.).

If scavenger hunts aren't your thing, don't worry; there are plenty of other things to do on Broad that night. Muddy's Bake Shop's underground will have a pop-up shop, the Cove has an extended happy hour and 2-for-1 oyster special, and the shops and galleries will all be open late.
