Made in Memphis: Paper and Clay Ceramics

Paper and Clay's line of handmade ceramics are equal parts form, function and style.

Vases by Paper and Clay, Memphis, Tenn.

Paper and Clay's simple, mid-century modern influenced vases, mugs, bowls and jars are all handmade in Memphis by U of M student Brit McDaniel. I like that the pieces aren't loud or bright or showy - they're just classic. They're also very affordable - every piece in her collection ranges in price from $14 to $40.

Though McDaniel has only been back in Memphis for a few months (she took a break from ceramics for a few years while she lived in Austin), she's landed a few big deals for Paper and Clay. Her work was accepted into the Porter Flea market in Nashville, and she just completed a large order for Memphis gift and design shop Spruce. You can also find her work on Etsy.

(ed. note: Made in Memphis is an occasional feature that shows off locally made products and art. If you’ve got something you’d like to suggest for a future Made in Memphis, let me know.)
