365 Things to Do in Memphis #209: Find the Center of the Labrynth

Updated July 2017

You're stressed out. You're high strung. Maybe you just like puzzles. Either way, there's a labrynth at Cancer Survivor's Park that you should walk. It's assignment #209 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis.

Maze, Cancer Survivor's Park, Memphis, Tenn.

It's a fairly gentle labrynth - it's easy and winding, designed to calm you down and give you a chance to reflect. (Unless you're me - I'm so high strung that I could only relax after I had finished the thing.)

While you're in the park, check out the art - there's a wildflower garden with sculptures, some of metalworker Yvonne Bobo's giant kinetic trees and a mosaic by Kristi Duckworth.

Hi, Kerry!  I don't mean to nitpick, but I thought this info might be helpful.  This is actually a labyrinth, not a maze.  It's impossible to get lost because there is only one path... it winds its way to the center then back out. There are several in the city in addition to the one at Cancer Survivor's Park: First Congo in Cooper-Young, Calvary Episcopal Church downtown, & Rhodes College.

Good to know - I didn't know that there was a difference. I'll correct it.
