Frozen Treat Alert: Yolo Makes Popsicles Now
I'm beginning to think that Yolo is that rare place that can do everything well. Their self-serve, locally made frozen yogurt is incredible, their rich gelato comes in an impressive variety of flavors and their bakery kind of blows my mind (especially when they have chocolate crack cake in stock).
But I guess being overachievers in the bakery and ice cream arts wasn't enough for Yolo, because now, those crazy geniuses sell popsicles.
The popsicles, which cost $1.50 each, are modeled after Mexican paletas. While they're not as thick or as bizarrely flavored as the paletas at La Michoacana, they're still made of real fruit and juice.
I tried the refreshing icy watermelon, a thick, almost creamy blackberry popsicle, and the most unusual flavor that Yolo offers - a smooth sweet and spicy chili and pineapple paleta.
You can get them at Yolo stores or whenever you see the Yolo truck out and about.
