"Million Dollar Quartet", the musical about a legendary recording session at Sun Studio, is coming to the Orpheum next week.

The cast already knows Memphis music – here's your chance to get to know them. A handful of cast members were kind enough to let me ask them a bunch of questions about the show, Memphis, and what's in their headphones. Today, meet the show's Jerry Lee Lewis, Martin Kaye:

Character You Play in MDQ: Jerry Lee Lewis

My favorite song to come from the show or the time period the show takes place (1956) is: "Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On" by Jerry Lee Lewis.

The most fun part of being on tour with MDQ is: Getting to be as WIIIILLLDDDD as I want.

The strangest / funniest thing that’s happened to me during a performance was: falling over as I jumped off the piano…yes, it really happened. Now don't go wishing it to happen when you come and see it. Trust me, it's not pretty

When MDQ comes to Memphis, I’m excited about seeing: Sun Studio…duh!

My favorite thing about my character is: how much he totally was the music he sang. There was no sense of self consciousness. He knew exactly who he was and was completely honest on stage.

The album I’m listening to on repeat lately is: "Abbey Road".

My hidden talent is: my eyebrow dance. Just trust me, it's something you need to see before you die. Cody (Elvis) says it's my power to motivate.

You should come see MDQ because: why the heck wouldn't you want to!??!!?

The touring Broadway production of "Million Dollar Quartet" will be at the Orpheum from Feb. 14 – 19th. There are still tickets available.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.

  2. Adriana Gorczyca says:

Its been along road and still living in my past with a real great guy, but I think its over. He kept telling me to see the forest from the trees. I have been so caught up in my past, negitive, and the pain I do not know how to let go. I never really thought about the world around me, What has happen can not be changed, But I can change this time now. I used to walk in the nature and would find it peaceful. I am going to take what you said to try and hopefully I can find the peace with in myself. No one deserves this stressful life of my past specially my guy who has more on his shoulders then me. Thank you for this !!! Hopefully my fight will be over and the peace I want in my life begins.
