K'PreSha Adds Some Style to South Main

K'PreSha Adds Some Style to South Main

South Main's newest boutique has a hard to pronounce name, but is easy to love.

K'PreSha (pronounced ka-PREE-shay) opened a few blocks south of Beale St. about two months ago.

Owner Kimberly Taylor has stocked the store with men's and women's clothing, accessories, shoes and bags. All of the pieces (which range from smart, casual tops to party dresses) have a sort of chic, downtown edge to them.

They've also got these recycled vinyl earrings, which would be perfect for any sort of University of Memphis sporting event:

On one end of the K'PreSha's long, narrow storefront, there's an exposed brick wall with a huge Goldcrest beer logo painted on it. Taylor said that when she and her friends were renovating the shop, they saw that there was brick underneath the concrete walls. When they tore down one wall, they found this mural painted onto the brick (which was the original outside wall of the Green Beetle). Taylor restored it and sealed it to preserve it.

In the future, Taylor told me that she's hoping to carry more handmade and made-in-Memphis accessories, more shoes and bags and expand into the store's upstairs loft space.

For now, K'PreSha is open Monday - Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Thursday - Saturday from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
