Oh, Make Us Over, Lansky 126

Everybody, I'd like to introduce you to my manager, Bob Hazlett.

Bob Hazlett

Bob's the guy that makes sure that the CVB's web presence is consistently awesome. He's also got the thankless task of making sure I don't do anything too crazy. We don't have to dress up for work, per se, but since Bob spends a lot of his time with the suits, he tends to try to step it up a notch. That button down with jeans is a little bit corporate, but not terribly rock'n'roll.

And then there's me:

Me, in blogger casual

Since I spend most of my time out of the office, running around the city, I can dress however I want for work. Today, I'm wearing a look I like to call "blogger semi-formal". Meaning, I'm wearing pants. Clean pants.

Bob and I thought we could use a little style update, though, so after a meeting at the Peabody, we stopped into Lansky 126.

Lansky 126 is the younger, more modern little sister store of the famous Lansky Bros. shop. While he original Lansky shop is filled with their trademark flashy menswear (they used to dress Elvis, you know), the 3000-square foot Lansky 126 is filled with trendy, modern pieces for men and women.

Shop manager Julie Lansky (a third generation Lansky clothier) helped Bob and me pick out our new looks. Let it be known that Bob takes way longer in a dressing room than I do.

After our makeovers

Bob's got on a very loud red button down, some dark jeans, and a pair of aviators that he got a little bit obsessed with. Julie put me in a pair of light wash, ultra low-rise jeans, a bright patterned button down, a vegan-friendly fake leather jacket and a pair of amazing Frye motorcycle boots that will now haunt my dreams.

Bob wound up buying the sunglasses and a reproduction Humes High School t-shirt. I have no doubt that he's wearing the glasses around the office this afternoon.

If you're in need of serious rock'n'roll style (or just an awesome reproduction Humes High School sweatshirt), Julie can help you find it. The shop, located on the first floor of the Peabody Hotel, is open daily.

I'm officially adopting "blogger semi-casual" as my new teaching uniform after our conversation on Monday. You're kinda my fav, by the way.

The boots you have on in this pic are very cute. I think you could incorporate some 'blogger boots' into your day- to-day look. Or drop them off for me :)

sorry but i'm on a tear to eradicate incorrect pronoun usage as it seems to be sweeping the country right now.....bear with me - "Shop manager Julie Lansky (a third generation Lansky clothier) helped Bob and I pick out our new looks. Let it be known that Bob takes way longer in a dressing room than I do." This sentence should say "Bob and me" not "Bob and I".

Adrienne - One of the perils of being one's own editor. I'm a little ashamed of that one. It's fixed.

It should be noted that Julie Lansky is all about customer service. I've never had a bad shopping experience with Lansky, whether it was on-line or in the store. Bernard Lansky (1st generation) is a real character who has earned his legendary status; but Julie understands that customer loyalty will keep the business alive.
