Christiana is the development director at Opera Memphis, so she chose to have me take her picture in the costume shop with this fabulous hat (complete with fake bird). She's also one of the founders of the city's coziest mob, the Memphis Knit Mafia.

- Beer lovers, rejoice! The River City Brewer's Festival is returning to Handy Park on March 26th. The event, which features more than 75 different kinds of beer, sold out last year. To make sure you get a cup, you can go ahead and reserve your tickets for this year.

- It's been a year since local rock'n'roller Jay Reatard passed away. In memory, I highly recommend cranking his 2009 release "Watch Me Fall" at top volume.
