Tigers Go Into Overtime, City Market Opens, and Thigh High Jeans Turns One
I went to the FedExForum last night to watch the Tigers take on Arkansas State University. I thought it would be an easy game. I thought I could relax and that the Tigers would easily score enough points (75) to send everyone in the Forum to Danvers' for free roast beef. I was wrong. So, so wrong. They won in overtime, 78 - 71.
In other news:
- City Market, Downtown's newest restaurant / grocery, opens today. The shop is at the corner of Main and Union, and they'll carry international and organic groceries as well as staples. They've also got a hot deli counter with sandwiches and prepared dishes. I'll have a full review up soon.
- A few days ago, I gave away a copy of the "Down Home With the Neelys" cookbook as part of Kraft's Huddle to Fight Hunger. I hate to disappoint those of you who have signed up for the giveaway in the last 24 hours, but the giveaway ended at noon on Tuesday, with a winner (@anmorris01) declared shortly after.
- Local denim company Thigh High Jeans is celebrating its first birthday this week. They're having a party at their shop on N. Main (in the old Greyhound building) on Friday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. to celebrate. Everyone is invited to stop by, meet the crew, drop off jeans to be recycled and eat cupcakes.
