- I've already gotten a few submissions for the I Love Memphis Halloween Costume Contest. I'm accepting photos of costumed adults, kids and pets until 12 a.m. on Nov. 1st. Email your photo with a brief description of your costume to [email protected].

- If you didn't make it out to the Indie Memphis film festival over the weekend, you missed out on some greatness. Congratulations to the crew from the locally-made feature "Open Five" - they totally swept the awards. The Flyer has a complete list of all of the award winning films.

- The Memphis Redbirds are nominated for a MiLBY award for "Best Triple-A Team in 2010", and they need your votes in order to win.

- Speaking of voting, this is the last week to early vote for the November midterm elections. Remember, when you early vote, you can vote anywhere in the city (and the lines are much, much shorter).
