A Flight, a Screening, Some Presentations and Another Lonely Shoe

Lonely Shoe #3

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the large number of lonely shoes on the streets of Memphis. I found another one.

Lonely Shoe No. 3
Front and Union

Memphis, Tenn.

In other news:

- Good news, spring breakers (and business travelers):  Delta is adding a direct flight from Memphis to Mexico City. The service will start in January.

- Tonight is Ignite Memphis night at Playhouse on the Square. Come watch as brave individuals give five minute presentations on the topics of their choice. I'm going first, with my very informative and surely enlightening presentation of "You Can Make Them Like You: The Making of a Better Mix Tape". Tickets are $15 at the door, but I've still got a few discount codes if you'd like to order one in advance.

- How awesome is it to get an event release that starts like this "Celebrate Fritz Lang’s modernist dystopia with drinks from our cash bar."? There's going to be a screening of the classic film "Metropolis" at the Brooks Museum of Art on Thursday night. There's a cocktail party at 6 p.m., and the film starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for Brooks members and $12 for non-members.
