Good Things Come in Threes at Flight
Good Things Come in Threes at Flight
Sometimes, it’s tough to make a decision, especially at a restaurant where everything on the menu looks potentially amazing.
Flight is perfect for the indecisive. The downtown restaurant is built around the premise that no one should have to choose just one entree. All of their entrees and appetizers come in “flights”, themed trios of three ounce portions. If you want more of something, there are entree-sized portions available. If none of the readymade flights are to your liking, you can create your own flight with any three items.
I started with the salad flight, which had three mini-salads: a tomato mozarella salad, an iceberg wedge with blue cheese and bacon, and a watermelon and feta cheese salad that’s got to be one of the most brilliant combinations of ingredients ever.
For dinner, I had the seafood flight - scallops and rice, lobster and spinach ravioli, and shrimp and grits. The portions were small, but they were all insanely rich. I would order the lobster and ravioli as an entree. Big chunks of lobster sat on creamy, savory ravioli in some sort of cream sauce that was clearly devised and executed by people who care about food very, very much.
Flight is not a jeans-and-t-shirt sort of establishment. It’s super classy, all dim lights and white table cloths. It’s definitely a special occasion sort of restaurant, perfect for birthdays or anniversaries or fancy business dinners. If you want to try Flight in a more casual setting, try it for lunch.
