Zoo Brew, The Polls and Watermelon Rolls

Zoo Brew, The Polls and Watermelon Rolls

Kevin, Central Barbecue, Memphis, Tenn.

My brother Kevin is in town from Nashville for the weekend, so I recruited him to help me eat for the Barbecue Brackets.

In other news:

- Tomorrow is the last day to vote early for the August 5th election. Remember, when you vote early, you can vote anywhere in the city. Today is the last day to vote in the Flyer's Best of Memphis poll. You've got until midnight to tell them about your favorite restaurants, shops, bloggers, athletes and things to do in Memphis.

- There's going to be another Zoo Brew on September 3rd. The semi-annual all-you-can-handle beer tasting is hugely popular, so buy your tickets early. It will sell out. It always does. Tickets go on sale on August 1st (the cost is $25 for zoo members and $30 for non-members).

- If you're looking for some good, silly fun tomorrow,  the Memphis Farmer's Market is having a kids' watermelon roll. It's a contest to see who can roll a watermelon down a hill the fastest. Seriously.
