My friend Joey Miller took this awesome photo of me (and my skates) at Dyer's last week for an upcoming magazine story.

I was totally honored, as Joey does some amazing work.

- It's been a rough year for Big Star fans. Lead singer Alex Chilton died in March, and last night, Andy Hummel (the original bassist) passed away. It's sad to see such a wonderful, influential band shrinking like this. My thoughts go out to the Hummels.

- Don't forget to vote. You can vote early for the August 5th congressional primary and county general election until July 30. Similarly, voting for the Memphis Flyer's annual Best of Memphis poll is open online until the 30th. Work those democratic privileges!
