I found this happy little lawn gnome during a visit to Oaklawn Gardens in Germantown yesterday.

In other news:

– There’s a brand new Backbeat Memphis episode today, and it’s about one of my absolute favorite things: Jerry’s Sno Cones.

– The Flaming Lips have canceled their Beale Street Music Fest performance because one of the band’s members is in the hospital. I hope he gets well soon.

– Tonight is rooftop party night at the Peabody, and the theme is “Cowboy Week”. Party Planet is playing, ladies are free before 7 p.m., and I’ve heard that there’s going to be brisket. The party lasts from 6 – 10:30 p.m. and cover is $10 (which includes your first drink).

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
