Eat It, Drink It, See It - Chocolate at the Pink Palace

Eat It, Drink It, See It - Chocolate at the Pink Palace

Here's a pro tip for those of you headed to the Pink Palace Museum to see their newest exhibit, "Chocolate". Eat before you go. Eat some chocolate before you go. Don't make the same mistake I did and try to wander through an exhibit focused on the history and cultural significance of chocolate without at least eating a Hershey bar or something. It's entirely possible you'll get hungry just looking at the entry way.

Chocolate at the Pink Palace Museum, Memphis, Tenn.

Chocolate tells the story of the beloved treat's 1500 year history as a drink, currency, luxurious treat and mass-market goodie. The exhibit also shows chocolate's journey from cacao pod to supermarket and all of the people that make the trip possible.

The exhibit includes large models of cacao pods, vintage chocolate molds, multimedia maps and videos, and lots of interactive, moving parts. The exhibit would be a perfect Valentine's day date for families.

Chocolate runs through May 2 and is free with the price of regular museum admission.
