A few nights ago, I noticed a new shop with a big grand opening sign on Madison between Second and Third. There were a few dresses in the window, including a tight, retro-inspired purple number that would look perfect on Joan Holloway.

I stopped in today to check it out. The shop has two rooms. The front room is full of new clothes, and the back is stocked with vintage clothing, shoes and bags.

Shop owner Johnice Robinson loves vintage glamour - most of the newer clothing has some retro details. In addition to the dresses that would be totally appropriate in an episode of Mad Men, there are jersey dresses that would work on 1940's movie stars, dresses with sweetheart necklines, and jumpsuits. Some of the pieces are work appropriate, and most would be great for a night out.

All of the clothing is incredibly reasonably priced, with most new dresses between $40 - 60. The vintage pieces are total steals, too.

Boulevard Boutique is open from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Monday - Friday and 11 a.m. -8 p.m. on Saturday.
