A Jersey Boy in Memphis (and a few other things)
Songwriter Bob Gaudio is one of the Four Seasons, the band that the musical "Jersey Boys" was based on. He was in Memphis today to promote the show (which is going to be at the Orpheum from Jan. 27 - Feb. 14). He told me that he hadn't been to Memphis since he performed here on tour when he was 15. Gaudio did get to meet Elvis, though. They hung out for a while backstage in Vegas. "He was a glossy eight-by-ten," Gaudio told me. "He's the most beautiful man I've ever seen, and I'm straight."
