The marquee for Memphis the Musical at the Shubert Theatre

Check it out, everybody – the marquee for Memphis the Musical is up at the Shubert Theatre in New York City.

The show officially opens next Monday, and I’m completely stoked about getting to be there for opening night. The story is about a sultry singer and a young radio DJ and the birth of rock’n’roll (and, of course, their love).

If there’s anything you want to know about the show, please let me know. I’ll be blogging  / tweeting / facebooking from the opening, so I’ll try to get answers for you.

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.

I have a friend (a native Memphian who lives in Baltimore) who saw it a few days ago and LOVED it. She said it’s already getting early Tony buzz.
