10 Ways To Love Memphis In May: Volunteer Ideas

Volunteer Odyssey has put together this list of local groups that need your help this month.

1. Dorothy Day House, Family Move, June 4th from 9:00 to 12:00

The Dorothy Day House provides transitional housing for families experiencing homelessness. Their goal is to help every family that comes in find and furnish their own new home. You have the opportunity to be part of our mission by volunteering to move a family out of the Dorothy Day House and into their own apartment. It is very important to have volunteers to help with the move - without you, it wouldn't be possible!

The Germantown Charity Horse Show is one of the largest all-breed horse shows in the country. For over 20 years, GCHS has selected Kindred Place as the charity for their event, and one of the perks of being the charity is that all of the proceeds from the program book sales will go directly to Kindred Place, a counseling and education center for parents, partners, and individuals in Midtown Memphis. Volunteers will be assigned to sell event program books to attendees as they come in. Volunteers will be able to attend the show for free, and they can bring family and friends to volunteer with them.
