<p>Songwriter Bob Gaudio is one of the <a title="Four Seasons" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Four_Seasons_%28band%29" target="_self">Four Seasons</a>, the band that the musical &#8220;Jersey Boys&#8221; was based on. He was in Memphis today to promote the show (which is going to be at the <a title="Jersey Boys - Orpheum Theatre Memphis" href="http://orpheum-memphis.com/index.cfm?section=comattrac&amp;page=details&amp;showid=646" target="_blank">Orpheum from Jan. 27 &#8211; Feb. 14</a>). He told me that he hadn&#8217;t been to Memphis since he performed here on tour when he was 15. Gaudio did get to meet Elvis, though. They hung out for a while backstage in Vegas. &#8220;He was a glossy eight-by-ten,&#8221; Gaudio told me. &#8220;He&#8217;s the most beautiful man I&#8217;ve ever seen, and I&#8217;m straight.&#8221;</p>
<p>In other news:</p>
<p>- The Whole Foods on Poplar is donating 5% of their profits from today to <a title="Project Greenfork" href="http://projectgreenfork.com/Home.html" target="_blank">Project Greenfork</a>. Project Greenfork is a Memphis non-profit that helps restaurants become environmentally sustainable.</p>
<p>- In other food news, it&#8217;s application time for the 8th Annual Memphis Hot Wing Contest and Festival. Anyone with a few friends and seasoning mad skills can <a title="Memphis Hot Wing Festival" href="http://www.southernhotwingfestival.com/" target="_blank">fill out the application</a> to become an official cooking team. The festival is April 17th.</p>
<p>- Mayor Wharton and his wife, Ruby are seeking the nominations of exceptional women for the Ruby R. Wharton Award.
