- It’s Social Club night at Five in One. They’ll be teaching people how to knit. For $6, you get yarn, handmade needles, and knit and purl knowledge. I’ll be there (with knitting needles) if you need any help.
- On the day after Thanksgiving, all trolley rides (downtown and out to Madison and Cleveland) will be 25 cents. Ride the loop at dusk and check out the holiday displays in a lot of the shops and restaurants downtown.

The Germantown Performing Arts Center is veering from its usual format on Saturday night for Rocktoberfest. It’s going to be a fantastic night for Memphis music (and a rare opportunity to see Al Kapone and Harlan T. Bobo at the same show). Ryan Peel and the amazingly cute pop band Two Way Radio are also playing. So, for $35, you’ll get to see four amazing local bands, one DJ, and enjoy an open bar.
The cool kids at Live From Memphis have been doing a series on people in Memphis that do cool things called “60 Seconds“. They’ve featured bands, dancers, rappers, and anyone that’s got something to say. They were kind enough to let me stop by their office and shoot my own “60 Seconds” video this afternoon.

Tomorrow, Memphis Roller Derby’s all-star travel team, the Hustlin’ Rollers, are playing in the Southern Fried Smackdown regional tournament in Atlanta. The Hustlin Rollers are made up of girls from each of the league’s three home teams.
