If my mind is starting to change a little, you can blame Kimberly at AJW Clothier and Day Spa. I stopped into the shop yesterday after my visit to Maggie’s Pharm because I had heard that they had cool clothes and an awesome salon.

AJW does, for the record, have awesome clothes. The selection is very curated – I was told that they don’t like to stock too many of the same item in order to help ladies avoid walking into a party dressed just like someone else. The men’s boutique has ties, jeans, and bespoke shirts and blazers (the company was started by Alfred Wooten, a former NBA player who had a hard time finding shirts that fit).

The salon is the main event, though. There’s a ladies salon with all of the usual lady salon offerings. There’s also a very manly wood-paneled salon for guys that offers straight razor shaves, shoe shines, haircuts and facials.There’s also a nail salon and two massage rooms. Kimberly told me that their couple’s massages are super popular, especially as birthday and anniversary gifts.

There’s a conference room on the second floor that you can rent out for super stealthy meetings. Think about it – if you’ve got some serious work to get done, no one will suspect that you’re at the spa. Plus, when you finish working, you can go get a massage. If AJW isn’t hosting Ladies Night or Gents Night (think ladies night, but with beer, sports and shaves), you can book a private party on the patio behind the shop.
