How to Ride in the StreetSeptember 10, 2:00 pm-5:00 pm
We know that lots of Memphians would like to ride their bicycles more often. It’s a great way to go the farmers’ market, park or grocery store. But it can be really intimidating to get on the street with all the cars. What should you do if the bike lane disappears? Where should you ride if there isn’t any bike lane? What’s the best way to turn left? Is it safer to just ride on the sidewalk?
How to Ride in the Street will answer these questions, and more! We will spend time learning safe street riding skills and then practicing together. We will talk about the best routes to use. And we will actually go on some field trips by bicycle to places like the coffee shop and the grocery store (and we’ll learn how to properly lock up your bicycle, so it will still be there, when you return to it!). This class is for adults who already know how to ride a bike. (If you are interested in a beginning riding class, please contact us!).
Class fee includes:
Bicycle, helmet and lock for use during classtime (You are welcome to bring your own, but you don’t have to!)
Membership to Revolutions (which also includes entrance to the Basic Bike Assessment and Fix a Flat classes, plus access to our workshop).
Class instruction and riding time.
